Patient Lifts
With limited mobility, a home care patient may require assistance from others when getting in and out of bed or a
bathtub. Patient lifts provide the safest and easiest way to accomplish these otherwise difficult tasks. Patient
lifts are typically wheeled, with a hydraulic boom - a small crane of sorts. Both power and manual units are
available, for a variety of needs and budgets. Both versions require little or no physical effort from the caregiver
to lift and transfer a patient. Electric patient lifts may require a standard electrical outlet, or they may
utilize a rechargeable battery for power. These can be operated manually as well as a safety feature. A variety
of slings are available for different patient lift applications.
