Stair Lifts
Most of us live in multi-level dwellings. Until we lose some of our physical mobility, we take for granted our ability
to go up and down our stairs. At some point in our life, it is likely that we will be bound to a wheelchair, or face
physical challenges that will make it difficult or impossible to climb stairs on our own. It may not be feasible or
desireable to give up the use of one or more levels in our home. Stair lifts offer a solution in this situation. Stair
lifts are motorized devices that run on a track mounted along any normal stairwell, allowing the user to remain
seated while the stair lift carries them between floors. The normal stairway treads remain available for use on foot.
Unlike home elevators, stair lifts offer multi-level home mobility without significant structural alterations to the home itself.
