Wheelchair Vans
In so many ways, our society has evolved around the use of a vehicle. Urban sprawl often dictates the
need to drive from place to place in order to function in our daily lives. Unfortunately, few vehicles
are designed to overcome accessibility challenges. From vehicle height and access issues to interior
layout concerns, most commonly manufactured automobiles are far from adequate when it comes to accomodating
wheelchair users. The best solution may be a customized SUV or wheelchair van. By incorporating lowered
floors, wheelchair lifts or ramps, and interior modifications such as hand-controls for driving and removable front seats, wheelchair
vans and SUVs make it possible to integrate a vehicle into easy everyday mobility.
